The main difference between success and failure is that successful people have one common trait. They have perfected the art of being "of resources." Many organizations always seem to find the owner who is self-driven and has the ability to work independently. In brief, employers want their employees are well prepared to "respond" effectively to situations that arise in the course of their work rather than "react" to situations.
The difference between having the ability to "respond" rather than "react" to any situation is that when you react you are doing what they can expect to make and can solve the problem but probably a short-term solution without the guarantee that the problem would surface again.
However, if you master the art of responding to situations that may see the situation from an entirely different perspective and be able to escape what is called 'stuckedness.
'Jam' means trap is in a certain way of thinking and not seeing things differently. The way we think is called a paradigm. We all work within the parameters of a paradigm. Although a paradigm of approach and gives an objective to achieve, has the negative effect of the catch is fixed in a mindset and not look at things from another perspective.
It's like the story of the carpenter who went to the woods, but could not find the wood because I was surrounded by trees. You may have found a similar situation where you can find an effective solution to what seems a seemingly difficult situation.
If you are 'stuck' in a situation like this is not going to help the drowning in the depths of their paradigm. The thing to do is escape the trap of paradigm and try something else.
For this there are four strategies you need to apply.
Strategy 1: Learn how to eliminate the negative and accentuate the positive
In any situation, have negative consequences, as well as positive results. Question: which one is focusing on? Sometimes it's important not to focus on the problem. When you only focus on the problem which might not be able to see the solution you want.
Example: At the dawn of the automotive industry, original car tires comes with two tubes. An inner tube where the air is pumped and a thicker outer layer that gives the contact with the car off the road. The problem was that when a nail through blows, the air chamber is deflated and the tire should be changed. Many tried to find innovative ways to overcome this dilemma. They harder rubber tires and put steel wire mesh of the tire. However, nothing seemed to work. The question was focusing on the problem. The problem was the tires. A paradigm shift centered on the nail gave a viable response. By eliminating the negative aspects – which is the tire was deflated by a nail and accentuating the positive is to see if the nail in fact may serve another purpose solution was found. A tire manufacturer realized that instead of having two tubes, why not just have a tube and tubeless tire was born. Now, even if a tire that hits the nail acts as a stopper to allow sufficient time for the driver to drive to the nearest garage for tire repair.
Strategy 2: Adopt an "It's never over until it's over" attitude.
Problems have a way of solving, if ever attacked from the point of different approach. The problem is that many of us do not have the energy in the common sense to do this. If there is a persistent problem and just will not keep trying to solve it. It can also help if you ignore the problem and focus on other things and come back later to see how you can overcome it.The thing to do is have a clear definition of the problem so you know what your expected outcome is. So start gathering relevant data and facts so you can see the best way to solve the problem. Take the example of Thomas Edison, who said: "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that do not."
Strategy 3: There is no such thing as bad ideas not only proved
Super Arthur Conan Doyle's detective Sherlock Holmes always tells his companion Dr. Watson: "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable must be the truth." This statement is a useful guide for you to escape the "stuckedness in what we are about. There is a tendency for many of us to brush like a bad idea or impossible. Sometimes it's the most absurd idea that helps to solve the problem. Therefore, a person with resources needed to develop the attitude that there is no such thing as a bad idea. If you are in a position of leadership must create an environment in which subordinates are not afraid to speak her mind, because it will be criticized and ridiculed. Look around and see how many so-called 'Crazy' ideas have become reality. A device that can tell your location, a machine heavier than air can fly; wireless transmission! These were wild ideas in his time, but it seems we can not live without them today.
Strategy 4: Apply the Pareto Principle
The Pareto principle is also called the 80/20 rule or the golden rule or the law of the vital few. It was coined by the 1940 Business Management Thinker, Joseph M Juran on behalf of an Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto. Although there are differing interpretations about exactly what the Pareto principle means it is a very good guide to let out "stuckedness. The 20% refers to the vital and 80% refers to many things and trivial that surrounds our lives. If you want to be clever you need to learn to look at the big picture and try to resolve those issues or problems that will make a difference rather than pursue trivial matters. As aptly by Dr. Richard Carlson – "Do not worry about things small ".
Try to implement these strategies in your life and see if you can escape from the trap of their paradigm and escape their 'jam'.
